This evening the European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission reached a provisional trilogue agreement on the Connecting Europe Facility. This is an important fund of over 34 billion euro for transport, energy and telecommunications infrastructure projects to be distributed in the coming years. In the field of transport, it will provide funding for projects under the Trans-European Transport Network.Ciarán Cuffe, Greens/EFA shadow rapporteur for the file in the European Parliament, said, ‘’I’m pleased that when it comes to ensuring we don’t negatively impact the planet, we succeeded in strengthening climate safeguards within this legislation.
